Steve Peters, affectionately known as Stevie, age 73, who was born on June 20, 1952, in Princeton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville. His life rich with love and passion for the things he cherished, leaves a lasting impact on his family and friends.

A dedicated member of the Baptist faith, Stevie found community and solace at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. His faith was a cornerstone in his life and guided his actions among family and friends. He had a profound love for horses, which was evident in his enjoyment of riding, participating in horse pulls, and breaking horses. The strength and beauty of these animals deeply resonated with him. Additionally, he cherished his daily habit of visiting Kays Kitchen, where he would enjoy meals and the company of friends, embodying a spirit of warmth and connection.

Stevie embraced the outdoors with an enthusiasm that reflected his vibrant personality. Whether he was riding horses or simply enjoying nature, he found joy in the natural world around him.

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Stephanie Smith of Marion and Kimberly Greer (Travis) of Princeton, who carry forward his legacy. His impact is felt deeply by his grandchildren: Kyle Pleasant, Jordan Cummins, Keegan Cummins, Kasie Cummins, Peyton Smith, Kamryn Smith, Jase Smith, Lillie Greer, Morgan Jo Greer, Virginia Dukes, and Audrey Goodman. Steven also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, who will continue to carry his family name into the next generation. Additional survivors include his sister, Shirley Banister, who supported him throughout his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Peters and Carnell Peters, his wife of 37 years, Debbie Peters, as well as his brothers, Donnie, Bobby, and Gary Peters. They will all be remembered fondly as part of the fabric of Steven’s life.

As we gather in memory of Stevie Peters, we celebrate a man whose love for family, passion for horses, and devotion to faith inspired all who knew him. His spirit and legacy will continue to live on through each life he touched.
