Family was always central to Lori's life.

Lori Michelle Bannister, born March 30, 1968, in Caldwell, passed away peacefully at her residence on July 28, 2026. Lori's vibrant spirit and deep devotion to her loved ones defined a life filled with compassion, warmth, and unwavering support for those she held dear.

Lori was a loving wife to Jay Bannister, whose partnership and friendship were at the heart of her daily life. Together, they raised a family founded upon strength, kindness, and enduring affection. She was a devoted mother to six children: sons Colt Bannister of Kuttawa, Bobby Jo Cornish of Princeton, James Bannister (Kristen) of Princeton, and Brock Bannister of Madisonville; and daughters Mykel Orange (Brandon) of Jacksonville, Illinois, and Layne Peek (Ryan) of Madisonville. Her children remember her as a guiding light, a trusted confidant, and a source of unconditional love. Lori's legacy continues through several cherished grandchildren, to whom she extended her boundless love and pride.

Family was always central to Lori's life. She is fondly remembered by her sisters, Brenda McCormick (Otis) of Fredonia and Phyllis "Sissy" Durad of Fredonia, who shared with her countless treasured moments and a lifelong bond of sisterhood. Lori's memory is also honored by the surviving members of her extended family and her many friends who knew her for her open heart and gracious spirit.

Lori was preceded in death by her father, Clifford "Pedro" Prowell; her mother, Idell Prowell; her brother, Barry Prowell; and her brother in law Douglas "Nubbin" Durad. Their memories remained close to her heart, shaping the compassionate person she was throughout her life.

Those who knew Lori recall her sincere kindness, her keen sense of humor, and her remarkable ability to nurture and guide all those around her. Whether hosting family gatherings, offering a listening ear, or simply sharing in the joys and challenges of each day, Lori approached each moment with empathy, generosity, and resilience. Her home was a place of comfort and laughter, marked by simple joys and lasting memories.

The family invites friends and loved ones to honor Lori's life during visitation on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Goodman Funeral Home, 1032 West Main St., Princeton, KY 42445. A funeral service celebrating Lori's life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Bro. Jason Forby officiating. Interment will follow at Rowland Cemetery, 1052 Rowland Cemetery Rd., Fredonia, KY 42445.

Lori Michelle Bannister's legacy lives on in the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she leaves behind. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
