Linda Lou Poindexter

Linda Lou Poindexter, 72, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior at 6:30 a.m. on September 21, 2026, at Princeton Health & Rehab, just three days after her 72nd birthday. She was born on September 18, 1954, in Princeton.

Linda devoted 35 years of service as a clerk at Caldwell County Hospital, where she was a steady and familiar presence to many. After her years at the hospital, she continued caring for others through her work in home health for several years. Her life was marked by a gentle heart and a deep love for the people and places that brought her joy.

She loved her family dearly, and family reunions were among her happiest times. She enjoyed window shopping, sightseeing, and spending time outdoors. She especially loved taking drives to the lake to watch the barges and the water. Linda also had a special tenderness for animals and was deeply moved whenever she saw one in need. That soft-hearted nature was part of what made her so beloved.

At the age of eight, Linda accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior while attending a revival meeting. Even as a young girl, her faith was something she wanted to share. Soon afterward, she witnessed to a friend at school, who also accepted Christ as her Savior. Linda remained a devoted believer and follower of Jesus Christ throughout her life. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church, where her faith was an important part of who she was and how she lived.

She is survived by her husband, Linn Poindexter; her brothers, William Freeman of Princeton, Ray Freeman (Donna) of North Carolina, and Kenneth Freeman (April) of Princeton; her sister, Sue Herndon (Rodney) of Princeton; her aunt, Leta Hartigan; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter “Smiley” Freeman; her mother, Ethel “Tete” Freeman; her brothers, Danny Freeman and Walter “Earl” Freeman; her sisters-in-law, Judy Freeman and Rosemary Freeman; and her niece, Courtney Freeman.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on September 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church, 101 Dawson Rd., Princeton, Kentucky 42445. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church, with Dr. Kevin Harris officiating. A graveside service will follow at Freeman Cemetery, Freeman Rd., Cadiz, Kentucky 42211, also with Dr. Kevin Harris officiating.

Linda will be remembered for her faithful spirit, her love of family, her compassion for animals, and the simple happiness she found in a drive to the lake, time outdoors, and being with those she loved. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
