James Willard Stagner, a beloved member of the community and a devoted family man, passed away on July 29, 2023, at Princeton Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was born on September 18, 1938 to the parents of James & Lena Stagner, in Dawson Springs, KY.   James was living in Chicago, IL for many years before returning to Eddyville, KY in 2000.

James lived a remarkable life that was dedicated to serving others and leaving a lasting impact on those he met. With a career that spanned from salesmanship to entrepreneurship, he made his mark as the co-owner of Regional Glass alongside his dear friend JoAnn Bogle. Together, they worked tirelessly for many years and built a thriving business that served the local community with integrity and excellence.

A compassionate and sociable individual, James had an unwavering love for people. He cherished every opportunity to connect with others and found great joy in engaging conversations. Whether it was spending time with friends or engaging in business transactions, James brought warmth and kindness to every interaction.

James's dedication to his country was exemplified through his military service in the United States Army. As a soldier, he displayed unwavering loyalty and bravery. His sacrifice and willingness to defend the nation will always be remembered with gratitude.

Outside of work and service, James had a zest for life that was evident in his hobbies and interests. He loved nothing more than hitting the bowling lanes with friends or casting his line into calm waters in pursuit of an elusive catch. When he wasn't perfecting his swing on the golf course, he could often be found admiring classic cars, appreciating their timeless beauty.

Family meant everything to James. He was deeply devoted to his wife Glenda Stagner, who provided unwavering support throughout their lives together. Their bond served as an inspiration to all who knew them. James cherished his role as a father and took great pride in raising his daughter Heather Stagner (deceased) and his son Michael Stagner (husband José) of Eddyville with love and guidance.

In addition to his immediate family, James leaves behind a sister named Dorothy (Peggy) Rimkus and nephew Mark Rimkus of Chicago, his grandchildren Jacquelyn Hall and David, and cousins: Peggy Sue, Linda, Gary (deceased), Brenda, Archie (Billy), Randall (deceased), Joyce, Nell Catherine (deceased) and many more living and deceased. Their lives were enriched by James's presence and will forever carry the love and memories they shared with him.

James Willard Stagner's exceptional character, warm nature, and dedication will be missed by all who had the honor of crossing paths with him. As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember the remarkable man he was and carry his legacy forward in our own lives. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that he made a positive and lasting impact on this world.
