James Henry Guill

James Henry Guill, age 79, lovingly known as Jimmy, passed away on August 27, 2026, in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 23, 1947, in Princeton, to the late Marshall and Bertha Cain Guill. He will be remembered as a man who loved deeply, laughed easily, and found joy in life’s simple blessings.

Jimmy worked as a plumber and also spent many years with Fortner's Gas Co., where he worked faithfully as s service technician until his retirement. He built his life through hard work, determination, and steady commitment. He had an exceptional gift for math and was known for his precision and attention to detail. When Jimmy installed ductwork, it wasn’t simply done well—it was done perfectly. He took great pride in his work and believed that if a job was worth doing, it was worth doing right.

He enjoyed the things that brought happiness and comfort to everyday life. Jimmy loved dancing and had a special love for all varieties of music including bluegrass and country music. He also loved driving and treasured the freedom and pleasure it gave him. A member of White Sulpher Baptist Church, he was Baptist in faith. He was known as a jokester who loved to laugh, and that spirit of humor and warmth made him a pleasure to be around. He loved a simple life, and in that simplicity he found contentment.

Above all, Jimmy’s life was rooted in family. He is survived by his sons: Michael Eugene Guill (Tammy) of Princeton, John Guill (Stacey) of Dawson Springs, and daughter-in-law, Shelby Guill. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Guill; his sister, Janie Fraliex; his brother-in-law, Jerry Stephens; and his sister-in-law, Sandra Guill, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Each of them carries forward cherished memories of his laughter, his presence, and the many ordinary moments that became precious because they were shared with him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Deloris Ann Guill; his son, James Leon Guill; his brothers, Jackie Guill and Junior Guill; his sister, Brenda Stephens; his grandson, Michael Tyler Guill; and great granddaughter, Marley Hays. Their memories remained an important part of his life and story, and now he rests with those who went before him.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 31, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Goodman Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Bro. Mike Franklin and Bro. Ira Guill officiating. Burial will follow at Meeks Cemetery in Princeton, Kentucky.

Jimmy will be remembered for his humor, his love of music and dancing, his hardworking nature, and the steady way he lived his life. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
