James Lee Bowling, age 74, was born on August 14, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on August 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy grounded in family, love, and enduring devotion.
Throughout his seventy-four years, James shared the richness of his life with those closest to him. His beloved wife, Mary Bowling, stood by his side through all of life’s joys and challenges, and together they built a family that would become James’s greatest source of pride. He was a devoted father to his sons, Jimmy Bowling Jr., David Bowling, Chad Bowling(Joann), and Jeff Bowling(Jessica), and to his daughters, Victoria Wertman (Richard), Tara Camerieri (Vincent), and Lacy Bowling (Bryson), and to his sisters Dorsey Emmerich, Polly Hemler, Karen Clark carry with them the cherished memories born of their special bond.
James’s legacy is most profoundly felt in the generations that follow him. He was a grandfather whose warmth, guidance, and gentle humor brightened the lives of Stephanie Rodriguez, Ben Rodriguez, Kimberly Jesmer, Dawson Jesmer, Maddie Cole, Alexandra Wertman, Alexandria Bowling(Dylan), Ashley Bowling(Robert), Katelyn Moore, Emily Bowling, Riley Bowing, and John Anson. His love also reached his great-grandchildren: Braden Stackhouse, Leylah Stackhouse, Emmitt Stackhouse, Everly Stackhouse, Delainey Jesmer, Delilah Jesmer, Luca Lee Sessions, Gabriel Maldonado, and Hailey Maldonado. Each carries forward a part of James’s enduring spirit, whether through memories of shared moments or in the values he imparted.
He is also lovingly remembered by the memory of those who passed before him—his sister Shirley Hill, his father Dorsey Bowling, his mother Irene Bowling, his son Tommy Bowling his grandchild Alyssa Bowling and his nephew William Emmerich. Their influence upon James’s life was deep, and their legacy echoes through his own.
James’s journey from his beginnings in Baltimore to his final days was distinguished by steadfast dedication to Christ and his family.
