Dorothy Jean Creekmur

Dorothy J. Creekmur, age 70 of Princeton, passed away on July 25, 2026, at Caldwell County Hospital. Born on August 22, 1955 in Caldwell County, Dorothy’s life was marked by dedication to her family, her work, and her many interests.

Dorothy built a fulfilling career with Walmart, where she devoted over 15 years of steadfast service before retiring. Her professional commitment reflected her reliability and her steadfast nature.

A creative spirit at heart, Dorothy found immense joy in painting and crafting. Her artistic skill was recognized by a first-place award for her creations, a testament to the talent and passion she brought to her hobbies. In addition to her personal pursuits, Dorothy enjoyed playing Bingo at the nursing home, particularly delighting in the jewelry prizes she won, most notably the rings she wore with pride. Decorating homes—her own and those of her friends—brought her great happiness, and she approached this with the same warmth and care that defined her relationships.

Dorothy’s love for visiting with friends and family was evident to all who knew her. She cherished time spent in fellowship, both in casual gatherings and during church services at the nursing home. She was deeply appreciative of the pastors and singers who contributed their time to these services, drawing spiritual comfort and community from their presence.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Roger McDaniel (Wendy) of Eddyville and Kevin McDaniel (Candy) of Clay; her brother, Will "JR" Melander (Ashley) of Eddyville; and her sister, Tammy Hawkins (Mark) of Cox Creek. She leaves behind a loving legacy in her grandchildren: Justin McDaniel (Haley), Ashton Wurtman (Steve), Jaci McDaniel (Clay), MaKaylah McDaniel, Kevin Wayne McDaniel (Ashley), Parker Ray, and Paige Ray. Her great-grandchildren—Cameron, Drake, Addison, Rylan, Maxton, Harper McDaniel, Maelee Stovall, Sadie Gibbs, and soon to be Baby Boy Luke Michael Wurtman (September 2026) — were sources of special affection for Dorothy, carrying her legacy forward.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Turley and Peggy Boswell McKinney; her brother, Henry Ray Turley; and her sisters, Denise Turley, Susie Yanez, and Kim Ficker.

Friends and family are invited to honor Dorothy’s life at the following services. The funeral service will be held at Goodman Funeral Home, 1032 West Main St, Princeton, KY 42445, on July 31, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with Bro. Bobby Noel officiating. A visitation will take place at Goodman Funeral Home on July 31, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The graveside service will follow at Hebron Church Cemetery, 4956 St Rt. 1943 W, Eddyville, KY 42038, also officiated by Bro. Bobby Noel.

Dorothy J. Creekmur will be fondly remembered for her kindness, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her memory will remain a cherished presence in the lives of all who were fortunate to know her.
