Sammy Thompson

Sammy Greg Thompson, 63, of Princeton died Monday August 5, 2019 at Caldwell Medical Center in Princeton. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a volunteer firefighter with the Princeton Fire Department. He was employed with the Caldwell County School System, and was retired from Princeton Public Works Department.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Polly Orange Thompson; two sons, James Robert Thompson (Melanie) of Paducah, KY; Dustin Wynn (Lindsay) of Caldwell Co., KY; daughter of his heart, Abby Oliver (Chance) of Caldwell Co., KY; two grandchildren, Emma Grace Koscho and Collin Wynn, both of Caldwell Co., KY; three brothers, Steve Thompson of Caldwell Co., KY; Stan Thompson of Clarksville, TN; Sid Thompson of DeMotte, IN; mother in law, Velma Orange LaPradd (Sonny) of Princeton, KY; several nieces and nephews; and his loyal canine companion Bo.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Christine Brown Thompson; father, Emmett Glenn Thompson; grandparents, Robert and Eva Holloman Brown.

Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, August  9, 2019 at 12:00 pm (Noon) at Goodman Funeral Home, 1032 West Main St. Princeton, KY. Memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 am until service time on Friday.

Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton with full military honors.

Goodman Funeral Home in Princeton are in charge of the arrangements.

Very sadden to hear lost of Sammy . Had very good memories of working together at the Old Grinnell Plant . He had a good sence of humor , a friend and good man . We ran around some .. He told me about his life . Will miss you my friend , sorry we had drifted apart over the yrs . R I P
